John’s lens gear
What’s in John’s glasses?
Musicians talk about their guitars, amps and recording setups. Here is the optometrist’s version: the lenses John wears for different parts of his day.
John is the owner and an optometrist at Reservoir Spectacles. These are his current personal choices for everyday wear, night driving and two different kinds of computer work.

Four setups
A pair for each part of my day.
01 · EVERYDAY
CR AllDay — my everyday pair
A balanced mix of distance, intermediate and near vision—the pair I use throughout a normal day, moving between different tasks.
02 · NIGHT DRIVING
LED PRO — my night-driving pair
Designed to manage glare from LED lighting, including headlights. This is the pair I choose for driving after dark.
03 · COMPUTER WORK
CR AF with FL-41 — my general computer pair
The anti-fatigue design provides support for near work, combined with an FL-41 tint. This is my general computer-work setup.
04 · FOCUSED DESK WORK
Australis i-Tech — my focused desk pair
Prioritises near and intermediate vision for computer and desk tasks. I use these for more concentrated computer work when I don’t need so much distance vision.
My setup, your questions.
This is a personal gear list, rather than a recommendation that everyone should wear the same lenses. If one of these options interests you, bring your current glasses and tell us about the tasks you use them for.
The links to CR Labs provide the manufacturer’s product information. The links to our own guides explain the options in more detail.
