A personal experience
The difference became obvious when I left them behind.
One night I started driving home without my LED PRO lenses. The difference was noticeable enough that I considered going back for them.
For me, the greatest difference is the comfort around modern LED headlights while driving after dark.
John Sweeney, optometrist and owner
That experience is why I am genuinely interested in these lenses—not simply as a product we offer, but as something I choose to wear myself.
Individual experiences vary. Night-driving glare can also be affected by your prescription, dry eye, cataracts and other eye conditions, so a thorough eye examination remains important.
Everyday LED environments
Bright light is not always comfortable light.
LED lighting is now part of almost every day—from oncoming headlights and streetlights to computer monitors, televisions and workplace lighting.
For some people, concentrated light sources can contribute to glare, visual discomfort and tired eyes. At night, the contrast between headlights and a dark road can make glare particularly noticeable.
Where it may help
One clear lens for several parts of your day.
Night driving
Designed to reduce the harshness of modern LED headlights while maintaining the useful brightness needed after dark.
Screens and gaming
May make long periods in front of LED-backlit monitors, televisions and digital devices feel more comfortable.
Workplace lighting
Can help reduce discomfort from bright overhead LEDs and illuminated workspaces throughout the day.
How LED PRO works
Selective filtering—not a dark night-driving tint.
Many traditional blue-light lenses filter a broad part of the visible spectrum. This can change colour perception or reduce overall brightness.
LED PRO takes a more selective approach. The lens is designed to absorb two disruptive LED peaks around 450 nm and 590 nm while allowing the remainder of the visible spectrum to pass through.
The aim is to reduce glare and visual fatigue while preserving useful light, natural colour and contrast.
Lens options
Designed to work as an everyday prescription lens.
Clear appearance
LED PRO has a very subtle green hue that is barely noticeable when worn, particularly with an anti-reflective coating.
Prescription choices
Available in selected single-vision and progressive lens designs. We will confirm what suits your prescription, frame and visual needs.
UV protection
The lens also provides UV protection for practical everyday wear.
Is LED PRO right for you?
Worth discussing if LED light bothers you.
LED PRO may be worth considering if you:
- find modern headlights harsh or distracting when driving after dark;
- notice glare, halos or visual fatigue around LED lighting;
- spend long periods working at a computer or under bright office lights;
- want a clear everyday lens rather than a strongly coloured night-driving tint; or
- would like one prescription lens for driving, work and screens.
No lens is the right answer for everybody. We check that your prescription is accurate and look for other causes of increased glare before recommending a lens option.
What to expect
Advice based on your eyes and everyday life.
1. Check your eye health
Glare can be made worse by an outdated prescription, dry eye, cataracts and other eye conditions.
2. Discuss when it happens
Night driving, computer work and bright indoor environments place different demands on your vision.
3. Choose sensibly
If LED PRO suits your prescription and needs, we can fit it. If another option is more suitable, we will explain why.
Frequently asked questions
Common questions about LED PRO lenses.
Are LED PRO lenses the same as ordinary blue-light glasses?
No. LED PRO is designed to selectively absorb two disruptive LED peaks rather than broadly filtering a large part of the blue-light spectrum. This helps preserve brightness, contrast and natural colour.
Are LED PRO lenses yellow or dark?
No. They are clear everyday lenses with a very subtle green hue. With an anti-reflective coating they appear virtually clear to other people, and the colour is not generally noticeable to the wearer.
Can LED PRO lenses include my prescription?
Yes. LED PRO is available in selected prescription lens designs, including suitable single-vision and progressive options. We will confirm availability for your prescription and frame.
Can LED PRO help with glare when driving at night?
LED PRO is designed to reduce glare and visual discomfort from LED headlights while preserving useful light and contrast. Individual results vary, and an eye examination is important because increased glare can have other causes.
Do I need an eye test first?
We recommend one if your prescription is out of date, your night vision has changed or glare has become more noticeable. If you already have a recent prescription, contact us and we can advise what is needed.
Can I put LED PRO lenses into my existing frames?
Often, yes. If your current frame is in suitable condition, we can assess whether it can be reglazed with LED PRO lenses.
