FL-41 migraine glasses
How FL-41 lenses may improve visual comfort.
FL-41 is a rose-coloured precision tint designed to reduce selected blue-green wavelengths of visible light, including wavelengths commonly produced by fluorescent and LED lighting.
Rather than simply making everything darker, the tint changes the balance of light reaching the eyes. For some people with migraine or photophobia, reducing these more stimulating wavelengths may make indoor lighting, screens and visually busy environments feel more comfortable.
FL-41 can be made in different densities. A lighter tint is often considered for indoor or screen use, while a deeper tint may be preferred in brighter conditions. It can usually be combined with a prescription, including many single-vision and multifocal designs.
FL-41 is not a cure for migraine and it does not help everyone. The most useful colour and density vary between individuals, so trying sample lenses and discussing where your symptoms occur is an important part of choosing well.
The rose appearance comes from selectively reducing parts of the blue-green spectrum while transmitting other visible wavelengths. This is different from a standard grey sunglass tint, which reduces light more evenly across the spectrum.

It uses targeted spectral filtering rather than a conventional uniform sunglass tint. Depending on the selected lens, it may offer a more subtle appearance than a strong rose tint while still reducing parts of the visible spectrum that some light-sensitive people find uncomfortable.
